Strange Behaviour

Hi Guys,

So ok I know my carr, I know when its running OK , I know when it 's trying to do a regen and I know when it's acting strange.

On 2 occasions now, I have started the car - driven off and it's acting strange. It won't changr gear until its reached at least 3K revs, the paddle shift is innoporateive, the buttonn to change from ECO to Manual to Sport only selects ECO and Sport. Turning the car off and immediately restarting puts everything back to normal????

The car is primarily used for short journey (not ideal for a diesel I know), and the "start stop" light rarely goes green.

So, I'm thinking battery?? It's a 2015 and I guess no battery has ever been changed? Or is it something that would create a fault code that and Idny could identify??

In the past I've found that if a fault becomes apparent within the first few hundred yards of starting the engine and driving off and yet if the engine is then turned off and restarted then fault doesn't re-occur then it generally points to a weak battery.

Before you start the car in the morning put a multimeter on the battery it should ideally be 12.6V anything less than 12.4V could mean problems, start the car and make sure the alternator is providing 14.6V ish. If the battery is the original I’d be inclined to change it. My cars sit a lot at the moment so I top-up every couple of months with a CTEK 7.0Amp
