Driving in me sl350 tonight and where it says d for drive or p for park,the number 2 came on and would not change gear so ,no warning lights came on.i pulled over ,put it in neutral then back into drive and it was fine ,any ideas peps

Too early to know, some of the tiptronic selectors can play up, if the car is not used much, this could be the reason. I would see how it goes, it may not do it again.

I had one doing the same, once used it all went away. All of a sudden when slowing down the box would drop to 2, shift to N and back and all OK.
