The most interesting thing in this story, http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7678953.stm , was right at the bottom.
Birmingham City Council was not so upset by the fact that a genuine disabled person might not be able to find a parking space but that it was losing £500,000 a year in revenue.
The bit I don't understand is that the Blue Badge means you don't need an actual marked out space, you can park on yellow lines . So are the wrongdoers actually using the bays ?
