Cl500 216
Hi everyone, just recently got myself a cl500 216, it's got a few problems , when driving up to about 40 mph it sounds like it got a noisy wheel bearing on the passenger side front,I mentioned this to an Indy and he said it could be faulty tyres (undulation)?, does this sound feasible , the car was stood about for a while before I bought it, it has conti sport 2s with about 4mm of tread left, cars done 88.000 miles, any advise appreciated, thanks

Get them put on a wheel balancer, this will show any flaws in the tyre

The Conti tyres do not have a V type tread, but a tyre fault is possible, but so is a wheel bearing.

By jacking the car front you may be able to feel a little roughness by turning the wheel by hand.

Sounds like a wheel bearing - does the noise change when turning left or right lock ?

Also if the car has stood for a while the tyres could have "flat spots" on them - as mentioned get them put on a wheel balancer and this will show up any flat spots.
