VDO light Question

I have a 2000 CLK 320. I was driving on a slight curve and the VDO light came on. During the time the light was on (which was about 2 minutes) I was unable to get my driver's side window to go up or down. Is this normal? What IS the VDO light and why does it come on? This is the BIG yellow triangle light with the exclamation point in it.

Can anyone explain perhaps what happened in my case?

You had me slightly confused with this 'VDO light' until I drove mine home. VDO is the instrument maker and they put their name just below the ESP warning light. The yellow exclamation mark triangle denotes that your traction control is working to stop your wheels spinning. A CLK320 has plenty power to spin up the rear tyres so your traction control (Part of the ESP system) is working well.
It shouldn't stay on for very long (unless you switched the ESP off with the switch by the gear lever rather than press the window switch). Which by the sounds of it is what you have done. When you press the button you switch the traction control system off and the warning light comes on to let you know it is off.

Thanks for the reply. However, I was certainly pushing the window up switch and the window would not respond during the time the exclamation point light was on. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same thing. Once the light went out, the window went up just fine. Could this be an electrical problem?

If it came on for 2 mins and was solid, then yes there is a problem. If it flashes, it's doing it's job, if it's solid, it's warning of a problem.
I've never heard of any connection to the window though but yes, it sounds like an electrical fault to me, possibly a dodgy connection somewhere.
Any other symptoms?
