Vito questions - rear seats

Vito
I'm thinking of buying a Vito van. It will spend most of the time as a van for work, but will be an occasional camper. I'd be grateful if any Vito owners could help me with some questions:

If I buy a van with just the 3 front seats, would it be easy for me to buy the rear row of seats from a scrappy and just bolt them in, too give me more seats? Or is it more involved than that?

If I do this, can I remove the bulkhead behind the driver's seat? Or is it structural?

I saw a Vito where the rear seats folded down to make a bed. I thought this was brilliant, makes occasional camper use so easy. Do they all do that or does it depend on the model?

Thanks for any answers

I think, but not 100% sure you need to buy the floor rails from a VIano and the seats from a Viano to make them easy in-n-out. That way, the seats can be unclipped from the rail and removed.

Be warned, the x3 seats (which are actually 1 +2), the 'double' seats are v.heavy..probably 60kg... the single seats are much more managable.

not sure how the bulkhead works, sorry.

2014 639 Viano- 651, 5sp Auto. 2009 S211- 646, 5sp Auto.
The seats are more complicated.
The floor retainers may be rails (Vito Traveliner or Viano).
The Vito Dualiner has individual clip in retainers.
I've no experience of any bolt down seats.

Insurance should be aware, and likely would require certification of the mod. Imagine the seats tearing out, along with a heavy belted occupant in a head on.

For versatility the Viano or Traveliner is the MB wagon of choice.

Yes, I'd definitely look for a Vito with the extra row of seats already, there are loads for sale. The standard floor in the Vito has got no preparation for seats and would be a lot of work to get them in properly.

Bulkhead is just screwed in, we always remove it when we buy one as we want the Aircon to cool the load space as well.

The Viano has 'independently controlled' rear AC, pretty sure the Traveliner has it too.

I had queried this too about fitting seats in the back. I first rang Aviva my insurance company as they all vary on what way they want them fitted. Some insurance company's insist on a certificate from a proper seat fitting company which can cost a lot. I was surprised that Aviva was happy enough that they were properly fitted by me and just ring them to say that it had been done and how many seats. id recommend rails for quick removal of the seats if needed. If your bolting them through the floor be careful of the fuel tank and try to miss chassis legs wiring looms etc. You need plate steel about 3mm minimum on underside to support the seat from pulling through the floor in the event of an accident.
