Having run my '93 280E for about six months now, I've decided to keep it a fair bit longer so will be refurbishing the front suspension this winter (there's a bit of clonking going on down there!).
Being an inveterate 'tightwad' , I'd like to replace the pivot bushes and ball joints in the two lower suspension arms, rather than replace the complete arm. However, I don't have access to a hydraulic press, which complicates things!
Is this work that any engineering workshop worth its salt could perform, or do I foresee grovelling to an unsympathetic dealer who doesn't want his 'Cyril Lord' sullying?
