I noticed my W213 with my radio off and going over speed bumps (only certain ones) I can hear from the front passenger side I can hear a very faint creak.

Could this be anti roll bar bushes?

Thanks

Could be any dry joint or bush I imagine. You probably need to get it safely jacked up and have an inspection with a torch, look for any torn boots or joints with play in them. Check the condition of the top mounts too.

I once quietened down some creaky anti roll bushings with some silicone spray, probably not a good idea tho.

There are 2 lower ball joints in the front suspension. one is replaceable the other needs a new torque thrust control arm. neither part is majorly expensive. Also an upper ball joint which I think is more prone to knock than squeek

So likely to not be an ARB bush then? I shall try some silicone oil first to see.

As the car has only covered 61,000 miles and 3 years old, I wouldn’t of though it would need replacing, as it’s done mostly motorway miles.

Thank you.

I can't say it's a good idea really, it was literally 22 years ago on my mk1 Mondeo!!

If it helps, mine is doing exactly the same thing at the minute. Mercedes diagnosed lower control arm bushings squeaking but ‘mechanically’ sound. Service rep and mechanic said very common problem on C and E class. Unfortunately it’s a whole new control arm which Mercedes quote £840. My car has only covered 45k miles and 4 years old.

Yes a control arm at merc - v expensive for the sake of only a rubber at the end when the entire arm is fine.

A good indy will have a puller and press to get old rubber off and press on a new one at less than a 1/4 merc price.
