Hi,

i've just had my mechanic drain 2 litres of water from the fuel system of my 1994 e320 cabrio - don't know where its come from and the car was only standing for three days with no problems before. the water is being drained from fuel pumps etc. etc.

saw the thread on carbon canister but does anyone know whether the car will suffer any major/permanent damage from this problem or have i had a lucky escape - i'd rather know of any scare stories in advance:-(

cheers, dino

after three hours work my mech drained the water from all lines including the fuel rail and all seems to be well. In fact its running better than ever. much relieved.

I would check your fuel tank breather to see if that is letting the water in.
Also have you checked the oil to make sure there is no water contamination?
