A business colleague call on me today in his VITO CDI he has just purchased.
His wife gave him a wind up phone charger for Xmas. He was sitting in the cab in Brussells winding this phone charger on his lap for 5 mins, enough for a3 min phone call, then the police arrived and pulled him out of the cab and wanted to charge him for an indecent act in public. Until he installs the phone he now uses it on the steering wheel.

Excellent!
At least he wasn't nailed for "driving erotically"!

Saw a neat gadget on my last US trip. It was a combined wind up radio, phone charger (multiple power adaptors) and torch in a single radio sized box. $49. Wish I'd bought one. They sell lots out there for storm safety etc.
Anyone seen one in the UK?

Save your money, bit of a gimmick, I tried wind this thing today, its hard work, to light a torch you would have to wind for 20 mins to get 2 mins of light with the solar /wind up radios they are OK at very low volume or in the Sun.
