wrong fuel filter

i bought the wrong fuel filter for my 1994 w202 on ebay. i got the push on/jubilee clip version, but i found that my model has the threaded one designed for compression fittings.

the filters look pretty much the same size. can i fit the push on one if i remove the compression fittings? or do you think i should fit the correct one?

I would suggest that you stick with the original and proper filter for your car...take the old filter with you and you can be sure of the same fitment..
