I came across this company whilst searching for new tyres online. Their prices seem 'too good to be true'.

A full set of Dunlop Blueresponse for my car, 195 65 15 H are £209 fitted at a local centre. No extras, pay online and book a fitting slot.

Just wanted to know if anyone had used their services before I place an order.

I'm still torn between Continental Premium Contact 2 - as recommended by many W124 estate drivers, or the newer Dunlops which have been rated very highly this winter.

The Continentals are £6 per tyre more, so its a just a case of deciding what I want to go for.

Thanks,

They have been trading some time, I would go for the Dunlop, they are so much quieter at 68db with a very good grip.

Thanks M, but to add to the mix, what about the brother of the Dunlop... Goodyear EfficientGrip! My analysis of the AutoCar review was that actually this is a better tyre, giving better wet handling that the Dunlop. But my 'wardrobe on wheels' I'm sure won't benefit ;-)

Shall order and report back on the service.

On a related note, can you please remind me of the adjustments possible on my car? Its an early face lift model. I presume just a basic tracking will suffice. In August '12 I paid £75 for full digital geometry, following the renewal of the front wishbones and ball joints, but felt a little ripped off as once the car was on the ramp, the chap said it didn't really benefit from his fancy (and expensive) kit.

The car is correctly set up at the moment, drives in a straight line and pulls depending on the camber of the road as it should. The current tyres are Michelin Energy Savers, the front pair have beveled, which I understand is 'normal' for the W124.

With best,

If the tyres are wearing evenly over the whole width, then camber is OK, if they are not feathering on one side of then tread, then tracking is OK.

I have not seen much on Goodyear tyre of late, I do you the Dunlop, and the figures are not bad at all.

Not exactly comparable , but we have Goodyear Efficient grip on the 'workhorse' car, our Ford Galaxy and I must say they perform admirably , decent wear and quite quiet. I would recommend looking at them, good shout. For the Galaxy next time we will be going for Goodyear's all weather offering if we keep the car that long that is....

Thanks, I think the reason they are so cheap is they are selling last years Dunlop model, and not the 'sport' variant, which has received top reviews.

Buying tyres now feels like buying an iPhone! The 2014/15 model is far better than last year!

Shall ring them to find out, before placing my order for a full set.
