Guy's,
It noticed my passenger head light had gone a pink dim colour, and the following day the light was flickering on and off.
Now the the light is practacally off apart from the odd flicker.
I did search the forum and some people are mentioning Ballast.....

Can anyone advise if this is a simple fault that i can rectify or a garage job...
also will it be expensive ???:(

This will or should be a simple bulb change, they are Xenons so care needs to be taken when changing it, the lamps must be off for 15 mins.

The cheapest place to buy them is Ebay where they only cost a few pounds compared with MB who take silly money.

Do not touch the glass envelope with your fingers for the grease can damage them, these lamps have very high voltages on them so do not go near when turned on, It might pay you to replace both to get a good colour matched .

Thanks for the quick reply.

When looking on ebay, i'm slightly confused as there are many types...
ones that look like this...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D2R-10000...rts_SM&fits=Plat_Gen:W211&hash=item4cf9f4b1f3

and ones that look like this type...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H7-XENON-...rts_SM&fits=Plat_Gen:W211&hash=item43ad23e069
But i'm not sure what type i need....!

These are the ones in your first link
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D2R-10000...rts_SM&fits=Plat_Gen:W211&hash=item4cf9f4b1f3

The seller will confirm they are correct for your car, others on here know better about the version and output levels, something that I have never studded , a search here should give you many answers

Thanks again, last question...
I have an E320 estate and i saw somewhere that this is an S211 and not a
W211, will they be the same bulbs ?

Thanks

Yes that is the correct term but still a 211 as we call it, no matter what the prefix is in this case
