Why don't you ring Mobilo - tell them what was said, say that as you took the time and trouble to ensure it was fully covered by T1 (transfer money already in their bank) you didn't appreciate the innuendo of the call - then ask them to confirm that everything is in order.

Good news I have had a voicemail this morning saying it is covered and the parts are being ordered from germany and should be here next week, phew! I haven't been able to get hold of the guy yet to clarify exactly what they are doing but relieved I am where I thought I should be!

The plot thickens though, I have been offered a higher mileage s65 which is lower spec than my 600. So my 600 is pretty high spec distronic, night vision, pan roof etc etc etc and a lot of the items I will probably never use but nice to have and has 42k on the clock. The s65 has 57k on the clock doesn't have distronic doesn't have pan roof (2 of 3 options I really wanted) doesn't have lane assist fridge etc and I am now in a quandry do I take the facelift s65 which is higher mileage and lower spec and sell my car or wait for one that is a bit closer to what I want.

The thing is I have barely driven my 600 but I don't know if I will kick myself for letting the 65 pass me by?

Real quandary! Need some advice??

No don't take the S65!

For some reason the s600 come with EVERY optoin, with only 1 or 2 that are optional (rear tables I think?)

The S65 still has many things that are optional. Distronic and Pano is a must IMO on these cars.

How much stuff are they replacing?

Missing options would stop me doing it particularly as they are 2 out of the 3 essentials, you haven't even tested the 600 properly yet

If you are like me, the missing options would bug you every day.

It's funny you say that as I thought the s65s where fully loaded but it appears they arent. The 3 I wanted was distronic (so handy on the motorway) rear ent and pan roof both for the kids which the 65 only has the rear ent.

Trouble is the 65 sounds amazing and the 2 times i have driven my car it sounds nice but doesn't make you think what the hell is that and I do love that.

Not sure what they are replacing specifically Jbell as merc haven't called back but it is some suspension parts and a radiator which has to come from Germany.

Good that it’s covered under the warranty. At least you’ll have 2yrs on those new bits as well.

Would a faulty pulsation damper leak oil as there was a fair bit coming out?

Where was the oil leaking from again?

A faulty one might cause some oil to squirt out of the pressure relief hole in the top of the ABC dipstick.

No it wouldn't. Unless it had unscrewed! It would also not cause ABC visit workshop to show up.

Surprised it needs a radiator. Quite common on these in hot countries.

The main questions have to be 1) How long do regard it as a Stop Gap (or is that a piece of string) and 2) what is most important to you? i.e.:
- The residual value in x months/years (i.e.: for resale/part-ex etc)
- Having the latest model
- All the toys - which you already have on your S600

It would drive me barmy if I had all the stuff one day and didn't even have the essentials on the next.

But you should maybe try throwing it back at them saying you think the spec is too low/and miles too high and as you haven't had time to fully evaluate the S600 they should hold the offer until 1 x week after you get the S600 back from the dealership.

- You don't ask, you don't get! They can only refuse!

Good points.

In addition, the S600 drivetrain is very simialir to the S65.

Slap an ECU/TCU remap on it and remove the backboxes and its nearly the same.

It was close ish to the nearside front wheel buddy.
