Hi all, I have just realised with horror that the rear near side door on our 2006 A150 will not lock.
Back in the winter when we had the snow the central locking started making a chattering sound when locked with the remote and when the car locked automatically as you drove off.
I hadn’t noticed this happening again until last night when I had to leave the car in a hospital car park. As I locked the car it 'chattered' again, I happened to be stood by the rear near side door and noticed the locking button jumping up and down. It settled in the locked position so instinctively I tried the door handle. To my surprise the door opened. I unlocked and locked again several times and switched the child lock, but nothing I did would make the door lock. All the other door were locked but not this one.
It is obviously a security worry if I cant lock the car so I need to get it sorted ASAP. Is there anything to adjust in the door to solve this problem? or does it need a new locking unit fitted? I guess this part must have become frozen in the winter and stripped a tooth or bent one of the components?
Is this a common problem?
