Theresa May said 'on the record' no less than five times that there should be no snap election - it should wait until 2020.
And the strange stand-off with Ms Sturgeon continues - May told her that Brexit is far too important for diversions like another Scottish referendum - but now she calls a national referendum (oh sorry, election) so it must be all right.
This election is just a trick for further self promotion by a PM who campaigned to remain but did her first U-turn to get the "big" job.
- Why doesn't she just get on with that "red white and blue Brexit" or whatever claptrap description she's using this week?
Many MPs do not want the so-called "hard" Brexit (which frankly Mrs May appears to favour).
- Reports back in October suggested that the Finance sector alone would lose £38Bn and 75,000 jobs if they lose the right to freely sell their services across Europe, and the government stand to lose up to 10 billion pounds in tax revenue.
- That wasn't mentioned on the referendum was it?
- So is it "opposition" for them to say what they think is the best for the country?
btw:
Has anyone heard whether the required number of negotiators they were supposed to be trying to recruit have been found?
