Well I am genuinely amazed......
I phoned this morning to change vehicle details from CLK320 Cdi to CLK63 and the woman said "we shall credit your account with the £42 rebate".
I triple checked that she had her facts correct...
its made my day...
I asked how much to start afrezh and she said £418:D

This doesnt make any sense at all.

Cheaper to insure the 55/63 than a diesel?

I got a rebate when I changed over from the XFR (5.0 Supercharged) to the E63 (5.5 Bi-turbo). Dirt cheap to run these AMG things. :)

I consider this a conspiracy to increase numbers into the V8 club ;)

My insurance dropped £50 when i told them that the car was a Grand Edition and not the standard 350 which is what they initially had it listed as.:confused:

How does that work ?

Do you live in the middle of a field with a mileage limit of 10 miles a year.

I'm 40's, 15 years NCB driving 25 years, no points and my CLK 230k with mileage at 18k per annum, comes in cheapest at £675 for me and wife. Her Golf GTI is £570. Living in cities inner cities is crap.

You maybe in a city but 18k miles is a long time on the road and a long time at the risk of an accident

that doesnt surprise me. i swapped over my '02' focus estate ( LX TD Di so it was the lower powered one) for the 51 C220 CDi saloon (143 bhp) and it only cost me the admin fee!

My renewal has come in for my 216, the price is the same as last year, even though I had the claim when the car rolled down my driveway, It was not a driving claim as I was not in the car at the time.

With the AMGs the insurance companies feel sympathy for the owners as they know you won't be driving very far as you cannot afford the car AND the petrol
:p

AMG owners do not use their brakes either owing to the high cost of the parts ;)
