Yep 7g isn't that smooth. I find in stop/start it's better to be in C than S so you don't get that harsh downshift into 1st as you are coming to a halt.
I await your report re the oil change.
Be interested to hear it too.
My experience was the full oil change ( inclu TC drain and filter and a complete clean) did slightly "change" the gearbox, rather than improve it.
That said, pre oil change I would have said it was perfect, silky smooth i.e. The only way I could discern a gear change or work out what gear she was in [and still is], is to use the down paddle until the revs rise!
But I did feel post oil change, after spirited driving in S, it seemed to hold into the lower gears slightly longer, ie. ready to pile on the torque! And She seems to adapt to the driving style slightly faster.
Of course this could all be Placebo effect!
Note the car had done 40,000 miles, (its a 7G Plus) and when changed Phil said the oil look extremely clean.
Personally I would always change the atf at 37,000 miles or 5 years.
