Sold it. I've had three R230s for 13 years (only interrupted by one year with the AM) so with all the problems (particularly the rear shocker) I got rid before MOT time appears! Got an M6 convertible competition
Lol, it’s possibly my fault! M6 is a lovely thing David, got it yet?

I'm as upset as the next man (more so, in fact) but when you are buying, the dealers don't seem to practice what they preach and we end up paying top dollar for the newer one but getting a pittance for what we trade in - BMW seem a little "keener" to understand
So ignore my last mail, clearly you have it!
Very very nice indeed- and I echo your sentiments above. BMW Shrewsbury got it right away:)

Very nice, I have thought about getting a 6 series myself.

At least you shouldn’t have suspension problems with this one. BMW M cars don’t have suspension, I am led to believe!

Stepson has a 640d and you're right - it uses girders for springs!

Cleaned 19 years of dirt/dust from the A/C temperature sensor fan (in the interior light housing). It was very noisy, now I can't hear it at all (no, I haven't killed it!).

VW Scirocco. The Quattro, E350 CDi Blue Efficiency Sport Coupe, now both gone
After my afternoon/evening of working on Swmbo's Un-Merc yesterday, I thought I'd wash my car to see if it would help loosen up the muscles I'd abused.
It did help for a short while but, I didn't do much good in the long run due to the low wind chill factor. It was nearly an hour after I'd finished before I could feel my hands and feet.
Such a shame really, 'cos it was a beautiful day, bright sunshine and not a cloud in the sky.
Anyhoo the proof of the pudding, lol.

What ever are they adding to the salt grit these days, washed the car last week, next day after driving to work and back the car was covered in horrible grey stains. Washed it 1hr ago and the grey streaky mess just smears around the car. Far too cold now for a secondary!

Yesterday the SL came out of the garage for a quick clean and whilst it was out I gave the consumer battery a charge. The car is now back in the garage for another 3-4 weeks.

They’ve formulated some added marl and other assorted cack to lower melting point and increase active road lifetime. I think that was done after the big freeze in... 2009? 2010? Around then.

Been for a 299 mile and 5.5 hr drive in mine. No aches, no pains, just a thoroughly nice place to spend the day. Quite a bit of it with the roof in the boot as well which was nice :):p:D

I've copied this idea from another forum that I use (A Ford Transit Forum) of all things!

I quite look forward to getting the e-mail notifiers that someone has posted something... De-badged their van, polished it, new wheels maybe... even a new air freshener....

Just a bit of fun really....

So, come on...
What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?
Continued to plan the NC500 I’m going on in September in my SL350, can’t wait!
