Fitted new fuel filter used Mahle this time instead of Bosch.
Had to unbolt the drivers seat on the SLK as dopy here threaded the airbag wiring wrong so it caught the runners and would go back far enough to let me fit behind the steering wheel, also had to disconnect the airbag plug which threw up drivers airbag fault. Luckily my lovely neighbour was home to reset again
Turn the wheels and use a breaker bar is what worked for meTried to replace front brake rotors and pads, but was unable to undo the calliper mounting bolts. Will tackle again later in the week with the help of an impact driver/wrench.
I'd give them a good soaking with penetrating oil, these buggers will be tight...if it's tight all the way out, it's likely a rusty tip of the fastening is tearing the housing thread......could also try cracking the fastening by doing up first, it won't be detectable but may cause the slightest separation between the componentsTried to replace front brake rotors and pads, but was unable to undo the calliper mounting bolts. Much better, looks good.I fitted these, made of genuine chinesium and only £6 (plus a 2 week delivery wait...) for all 4.
I think these may have doubled the value of the car.

AMG caps would have trebled the value AND automatically balanced the wheels for that price.I fitted these, made of genuine chinesium and only £6 (plus a 2 week delivery wait...) for all 4.
No need to disconnect the battery, all I do is remove the key from ignition. I've removed a few air bags and reconnected without any issues.
Just found out that they're tightened to 180Nm - not surprised that I couldn't undo them with a foot long bar! Will follow @Blobcat advice - didn't think of turning the steering to allow for easier access with a breaker bar.I'd give them a good soaking with penetrating oil, these buggers will be tight...if it's tight all the way out, it's likely a rusty tip of the fastening is tearing the housing thread......could also try cracking the fastening by doing up first, it won't be detectable but may cause the slightest separation between the components
Rain = beadsWashed it yesterday. Rain in the night so wiped it down this morning with some Sonax BSD and now it’s raining again!
Check the rear light clusters. I had a similar issue caused by a warping of the metal strips forming the light power wiring - sorted by unplugging each bulb, light application of emery paper to to contact points and bending bulb holder contacts out slightly to give firmer contact.Continued on the merry go round trying to determine why my Parktronic sensors suddenly quit a few weeks ago. Also why I am getting a light bulb fault warning at shut down. All bulbs look normal to me. W210/ E320 Avantgarde, year 2000.
