Then I gave the old girl (13 this year) a good wash! After the brakeline nightmare over Christmas I was thinking of changing her, but then you wash her and then think sod that :D

I had the same problem 2 weeks ago but after watching this vid it started every time with no problem. I have the 220 d elegance, but now when I turn the key there is no click for when the relay clicks off, glow plugs have been changed injectors have been checked it has a full tank of fuel. The only time the relay makes a sound is when I turn the key off manually, do I have to wait longer for the chamber to heat up longest I have waited is 3 mins and still no click from the relay. Please advise if you have any ideas thanks

And this is what I have been doing to my Benz all day today

Thanks, she's like a well worn comfy pair walking of boots that fit great and still polishes up as good as new, does the job (and more) at a fraction of the cost of replacing her.. and believe it or not I can get my bike in the boot (back seats down and front wheel off the bike) to do the Derbyshire trails and she looks good to boot (yes a poor pun) :p

Filled up with 70 litres of Shell Nitro diesel after 360 mile run - average 41.7 mpg for S350 Bluetech. Cost £91.00

Quick 180km round trip to the Mornington Peninsula to a friend's place for lunch - 1 hour 5 minutes each way for 5.3l/100km (53.3 mpg). Traffic on the tollway was heavy but moving well while the Sunday drivers on the B/C roads were just so frustrating with their 60kph in 80 and 90 zones. Much easier driving during the week when its more professional drivers and fewer idiots around.

Adjusted the glove box catch on the wife's car, it now opens after you press the button so we don't have to do the slap, twist and force down anymore
2 side panel unclipped and 7 screws the cubby box slides out leaving enough room to turn the small plastic wheel to adjust the cable allowing the catch to fully open and release the glove box door.

The end result :D

Filled it with fuel, and air, so the dash will stop complaining.

Drove into work with a big red dash warning, knowing- just knowing- that I'll end up taking the damn driver's seat out at some point soon...

...they are very heavy.

When I bought the donor seat that I needed, I ended up taking it to the tip. Luckily had the X Trail and it fitted into the luggage area quite easily.

When it came to lift it out, no one would help, I had to do it on my own and dropped about 3 hernias in the process. It's one of those where the containers sit about stomach/chest high too so no tipping it over the edge... I think I've read that they're 85kg, pretty sure that was the weight shown on the delivery docs when mine was brought in. The delivery driver just unloaded a pallet off the back of the wagon and left it for my Mrs to pull up the driveway on her own.

...they are very heavy.

Somehow a few years back I removed both seats on my 230, heavy is out of the question, but some how I got both into the garage, the hard bit is the protection of the sills and the right angle of the backrest to get the things out.

Yes, towels and blankets on the sills for sure. They do have exceptionally sturdy rails (everything about them is exceptionally sturdy!) so moving them around without damaging anything shouldn't be too hard, if I have to. I would think that the seats on the 215 and 230 are if not identical then very similar.

None of the above , it is just more pleasing to look at and feels nicer in my hand.
Kenny

The ensmallment thing comes from Archer, if you watch it. Very funny.

SL500 Transmission and ABC oil chnage

Mastertech in Ashford carried out a full transmission service and ABC fluid change at 77777 miles since no service record of either having been done. Transmission fluid came out brown - neither new or burnt; probably good for another 20,000 miles was the advice.
Mastertech used due to recommendation on this site - thanks.
