It could indeed be due to a lack of exhaust back pressure, but I doubt from the missing cats, maybe a compatibility issue with the turbo actuator? The position of the variable vanes have a marked effect on back pressure, which in turn will have a marked effect on EGR flow. However, we would still expect the mod to work in place of the EGR system, stopping the code from being logged? Also, I note the MAF values look good (nicely low) with EGR valve or mod fitted - bit of an odd one! We would be looking at live data etc to troubleshoot it I would think, especially if it has predictable faulting behaviour.
