Only $84 Billion
My heart bleeds........
This ties in with what Jaguar Land Rover are seeing. Their sales in China have dropped 50% and are causing significant challenges for them resulting in plant working hour reductions and the possible loss of jobs (they've already cut their agency staff significantly).
Whilst $84 billion is a lot in revenue any significant downturn can have far reaching knock on effects. For example (using JLR) if JLR have a significant reduction in their sales they in turn will reduce their orders for components. Many of those components are outsourced so these businesses in turn become impacted. In many cases these supplier's have suppliers of their own and so the damage creeps back down the tree. The only thing that's certain is that sooner or later it becomes personal and affects a person somewhere who will now have to find a new job in a market where there are many candidates.
Mostly the Midlands believe it or not!Where from, China ?
At between £700 & £850 for an Iphone 8, Apple have finally priced themselves out of the market. They're just not worth it.
I have a Chinese phone and it's far and away better than the Samsung it replaced. The Apple fanboys still lap up the phones and Macs despite the crazy prices being asked.
Samsung have joined the bandwagon too with overpriced phones.
People are less likely to want to upgrade at up to £1k a pop now and the Chinese/Korean offerings are taking a bigger share of the market all the time.
My £250 Chinese phones work just fine for me. If I break them I get a new one.I have a Chinese phone and it's far and away better than the Samsung it replaced.
My Mate 10 pro replaced a Samsung S6 Edge. Do it. The Huawei is vastly superior in every way.I've had Apple and Samsung phones in the last 4 or 5 years or so. For me the Samsungs have been vastly better and with fewer glitches. However I agree that pricing of both has become an issue and I'm seriously considering a Huawei next time. That might not be for a while because my current S6 edge still does everything I require and very well too.
Basically it feels more robust (I cracked the screen on the S6 inside the first month), battery lasts 2 days where the S6 struggled to last a day, the performance is better, software seems more stable and the battery charges much faster (with the supplied charger). Thanks LK. Interesting. That phone you've got must be one heck of a device then. I've been so happy with the S6 Edge though and it's hard to imagine how it can be bettered. I guess 3 years or so is a long time in phone technology !
