NoIf your going to do that then wouldn't summer tyres all year round be better? At least then you will have optimum tyres for 10-11 months of the year rather than compromised tyres all year.
Take off the other side and let the beast roar!Hmmmm, well I was warned......

Just.......... no.
For my commutes etc there are about 6 weeks per year where winter tyres would be better than summer tyres. For me switching for those 6 weeks is not cost effective, especially given the RS3s deal pretty well with anything outside of snow or ice. From what I've been able to find out on the forum, Merc's need winters or all season tyres when it snows, or basically they just don't go anywhere.
I'm to much of a coward to risk the car with summers fitted during the winter.
All seasons are a fair compromise when fitted to a car which does most of its motoring on the West Coast of Scotland, jeez a hot day up here is 19C or 66F in old money. 20C and above is a rarity
If I lived down south, I reckon summers would be an all year round solution.

In the U.K., so are summers..!Winters are really underestimated
Do we have them?In the U.K., so are summers..!
After all the faffing about swopping wheels and so on I've decided to go down the same route Wighty, from now on all tyres purchased will be all season. (M'boy's after my black alloys as they will match his car). That'll pay for a couple to start off.

What David has said makes far more sense Jim (Smiley emoji)
Summers won't work all year , especially as he lives in Scotland , there will be days where his rear wheel drive car can't move . I take your point about summers , but it depends how important those "few" snow days are with work/commitments .If your going to do that then wouldn't summer tyres all year round be better? Only by those that have never used themWinters are really underestimated
I used to use them on my Smart Roadster (Toyos). They were definitely better on snow and ice than the Toyo summers but not by a huge amount. When they wore out I didn't replace them (the last two are still behind the shed I think).Only by those that have never used them
