im missing summat here , the pics the OP posted are e-classe , other replies include an e-class coupe , soooo either I cant see summat as this works puter is old and decrepit OR ive no idea what your on about BC :p:D
The E-Class coupe and convertibuble is based on a C-Class chassis and floor plan. This is why I said your liking of them is actually liking C-Classes

Certainly the 207 was based on the 204 but I thought the current E Coupe and Convertible were proper E Classes?

The C-Class comment had occurred to me, but I hesitated to say it lest I caused offence... ;)

and that's a Porsche

I agree Porsche helped develop the Suspension and Drivetrain because Mercedes were very busy and Porsche was not doing so well and basically needed the work.
They only ended up assembling it because the E500 with the wider chassis wouldn't fit through the W124 Assembly line.

But having a lot of Porsche in its DNA isn't such a bad thing! Wouldn't bother me...... :p

Quite the opposite in fact, I'd have one if I had the folding :)

So the conclusion from this thread is that the favourite E-Classes are a Porsche or a C-Class :D:p:cool:

With you there Jon, just something about the 205/213/222 that’s a bit lost they don’t stand out in my mind, helishly good cars though, my brother is just giving up his 205 waggon to go into a V90, would have had a 213 but the deal was better on the T8 V90

Yep, John the 212 facelift is nice, but to me (biased) the original 212 just looks more menacing (meaner) especially from the front and especially in Coupe guise.;):)
