Oh they’re good. We have one in our van.
Do you know what the external water connection looks like? We had to change ours as the filters for our Crystal system had ballooned to £57/ea!

Just for the haters ;)

I’m thinking I’m pretty confident in the width and positioning of my car these days...

Above is the view from the drivers door mirror after I’ve driven into the garage... the passenger side mirror I fold in otherwise it hits the handle on my roller tool cabinet... so I can’t see behind on that side...

Today I was even closer to bike on the way in

I’m having to drive in at an angle at the moment as well as I’ve another of my cars on the drive and I have to get past that before I can line up into the garage.

Anyone else really enjoy slow speed tight and potentially very expensive driving / parking?

I can’t find the picture I had of the plug being millimetres from a concrete pillar, like you though I do like a good bit of low speed manoeuvres

it’s the attachment to the caravan where you’ll potentially have problems...

I'll take some pics of the contortions to get the 210 into the barn sometime.
1" spare each side and you have to do a 90 degree turn to get lined up but you only have a car length in which to do it (and to go in you're in reverse). Then once in you need to negotiate the tow hitch of a tandem axle trailer whilst avoiding a steel pillar supporting the roof on the other side, then straighten up and manoeuvre to get it parallel to the wall so the trailer can be removed if required ..

This is what we had... 9E5C4A81-64C7-4CBF-BE30-4668E4519949.jpeg

It had a tendency to create a poor electrical connection, usually at 9.30pm in the middle of a thunderstorm or 7am while I was fully soaped up (there’s an image for you..! Also as mentioned the filters are daft money now.

We replaced it with this, standard on British vans. Full conversion kit, easy job, even has the same mounting hole centres.

Have noticed the rubbers on my W211 have gone as well. Was it an easy fix? Parts from dealer?
Yes. The hardest part was getting the centre sections out of the plugs. I used a couple of trim removers that had a claw hammer type end on it for extracting the centre pins out.
Once they were out and the T25 retaining bolt, the old one lifted out reasonably easily. After that it was just a matter of removing the plate at the top of the seal from they old one, working the new one into position, reinstalling the plugs and the T25 retainer bolt.
Parts from dealer. The actual part was an unbelievable bargain at less than £9+Vat.

Actually got mine out of the garage this morning.

Off to have a look at THIS E500 for a mate of mine who's working away for the next few days so can't make it. His kids have told him that they want a convertible apparently and he found this one.

The car looks immaculate, probably a bit over the odds price wise but possibly worth it if it's as stated. My only concern is that a car in such condition will be wasted with my mate who will have to leave it outside which would be a shame really and it will go from a superbly maintained low mileage specimen to an average car, commanding an average price, in a very short time. Kids will be happy though and I get to go to inspect it this lovely morning so I'm good too. :)
