The 169 got a new ticket today, nothing to note and the smoke test came out at 0.19 which for a 15 year old car that wasn’t quite up to temperature when doing the test is pretty good in my mind, the plate limit is 1.2 for reference.

Try having an 18 year old car with a 0.60 plate value..

Found out the 215 does not like frosty / icy roads one little bit
That will be the tyres... all frozen when I left at 07:00 yesterday morning and at 18:30 when I got back yesterday. Challenging to walk around the car... my winter tyres gave great feedback and no issues with traction at all

I always found I could get a car moving in winter with summer tyres on ....
Not saying it was always in the intended direction though
My W211 E320 just decided it wasn't safe to proceed so wouldn't :( car much smarter than the owner...

I have suspected a very slight vibration at around 80'ish since I put new tyres on my CLS63 (x218) a while back.
Carting a large rotary iron around the other day I could hear it rattle so....
All 4 wheels balanced and tracking checked.
Tracking only out a smidge.
From wheels fine but both rears needed some weights - probably not checked previously as many places only do fronts.
All good now

"Fitted" a new blade to the rear wiper of the S204, following the removal and fitting instructions. 2 small pieces of the plastic securing clip broke while attempting to fit the new blade

upload_2021-1-7_16-41-21.gif upload_2021-1-7_16-41-21.gif New wiper arm required, and having looked at the Youtube "how to remove and refit" video also had to order a puller as chances are the arm is tight on the shaft (car is almost 13 years old, doubt arm has ever been removed!). Interesting variety of prices for the arm - anything from about £15 to over £30! Arm also comes with a blade, so I'll now have a spare in the boot.

Gone around the Viano removing many stickers that tell me not to jump in front of a bus.

2 stickers with a rescue bar code, 2 stickers on either side of the sun visor telling me not to put a kid the wrong way round. And a few more.

I've yet to remove 2 under the bonnet, one tells me not to put my hand in the fan another tells me too much engine oil isn't good. I'll leave the air con gas type and quanta titty label.

MB used to apply stickers under there to show how to route the aux belt and another to specify engine oil type. Clearly that's far too involved for peoples who don't know that a moving fan will hurt.

Heat gun, scraper and white spirit. But it takes a while.

The rescue barcode is for the fire brigade so they know where to cut you out and where the explosive charges are... better off leaving that one...

Used the old girl the bring the wife's hair dryer back to life. Originally used the van but for some reason it didn't have the guts. IMG_20210104_165428.jpg

Simply because the R171 does not have a rear wiper - so if she's wet I have to microfibre the rear screen before driving, as the air flow (even at decent speeds) does not clear the water despite having threated the screen with Rainex!!

Mine clears :p perhaps you need to make more progress :D
Although nothing behind is of concern (unless it’s blue and flashing...)
