Feeling motivated at 3.30pm , knowing there was beer and BBQ later. I ”forced” myself to do a quick Pela pump engine oil/filter and gearbox sump atf change on the CLK :)…..Boom !
I used my electric Lidl pump to clear the water from the scuttle drains on the R170 earlier. Useful for more than oil ;)

I use mine attached to the gravel cleaner for my fish tank. It doesn't half suck out the crap from the gravel.

Pans off, crevice cleaning buds, new gaskets, filters and oil. The difference between fixation and fetish? :p

Changed the E class front upper wishbone ball joints to get rid of an irritating low knock noise . I “think” it has worked after a very short test drive .
Turns out it has not got rid of the knocking noise . It’s a low volume knock , sounds from the drivers side front area , only heard at lower speeds when there is a rough road surface or slights up and down car movement .
The weird thing is that after i changed the upper ball joint I did not hear it for a few miles .
I know what it’s not because I’ve changed parts
Front lower control arms
Front suspension arms
ARB droplinks
Upper wishbone ball joints .
Front lower ball joint
Inner & outer tie rods .

This now leaves as possible suspects
Shocks or springs
Rubber top mounts
Upper wishbone (not the ball joint )

It’s your shock absorber I’m afraid, it’ll sound like a low knocking rattling sound

I’m loving it here in Norwich, no Seagull poo or any other kind of bird poo for almost two weeks now. On the Coast it could be twice a day

Today, took the 221 over to @LostKiwi who very kindly provided a delicious coffee, some top-quality dog action, and an actual fix to my dodgy AC issue. As always a true gent! Thanks Alastair!

Nb I did not realise how filthy dirty one can get when gassing up the AC in a car. My shirt was ruined!

The same as I have fitted at the moment (Sachs) I just searched on the MB part number via Autodoc . Got Sachs springs as well , with the same colour code as I have .
So hopefully there will be no issues
I ordered Bilstein B4 and had to cancel as they were quoting 6 weeks plus to supply. I ended up with B6 rears and B8 fronts using the original springs and new Arnott air springs when the originals failed.
