Right - I got my lovely new C220 exec this morning and it's great. It has comand and after checking the MB pages and this forum I also ordered a new Blackberry bold 9900 as it had ticks in pretty much every box on the compatibility chart. Several, very cold hours with the 300 page comand module I have it synced to the car and making calls now worries - BUT - can I get the car to go on the WWW? No. What am I doing wrong? I sync, go to the airtime provider and get zip, nada, niente, less than that.

Any clues or suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks

Jim

Already been through that when I chose the phone - but thanks. I think it's to do with the access point it's trying to use. Has anyone got the settings for Vodafone access?

Try a forum search and google search, pretty sure that it normally happens due to some network setting, you need to ring your provider to change something.

Are you able to browse the web with the phone?

I'm not sure you can connect Comand to the web via the phone.

I have a new S class and I have not found a way to do this as yet.

Woo hoo - fixed it - thanks Vodafone - Mercedes pre program the wrong WAP access point. For some reason they use the one in Germany. Changed to the UK and suddenly I can see the weather, read the news and scan facebook while driving....

Graham - try changing the access point to wap.vodafone.co.uk

Generally it's a great car. More interior space, smoother, quieter and faster with some superb toys.
If I was to make any complaint, it would be that the build seems more plasticky. Nothing seems as solid, but I said the same on moving from the 140 to the 220.
I still think the 220 shape is the best. Smooth lines and curves.
But would I swap back......NAH!!!

Thanks.

I do like the way the w220 hides its size.

I hope to upgrade to the bluetec w221 someday. I still haven't quite got used to the styling though. The facelift does look a lot better.

Most people say the 221 is a massive step forward from the 220 but the way my car glides over bad roads never ceases to amaze me.

Cheers

Adam
