Now that sounds like a very versatile piece of kit - and for £2.99 too! Bonus!

None at the monent, but there's an OM642 in the Jeep Grand Cherokee!
When filling up at the pump, take a jerry can with you and 'up-end' the hose to liberate that last bit in the bottom of the 'U'

^ LOL! The valve is in the nozzle, so you won't liberate much!

I always laugh when I see people upending the hose when theyve stopped pumping and they havn't realised the valve is in the handle so nothing extra is gonna come out. lol. I suppose the exercise might do them some good. lol.

o2 Broadband

O2 are selling their Broadband and Landline business to Sky.

Upon hearing this news I decided I was going to move as I'm not a Sky customer yet but didn't want to exclude myself from the new customer deals just in case I wanted a TV package in future, so I phoned O2 customer services to get a MAC code.
Upon asking for the MAC code they offered me 12 months free broadband and also £100 credit to my mobile contract to stay with them.

The recommendation to anyone on O2 broadband? If you're staying with them anyway, phone up customer services and say that you want to leave; the number is 0800 230 0202 (drop the first 0 if calling from your mobile) and it's option 1 then 5 then 2 to get to the retentions team

Stop going to Waitrose.

Waitrose cheaper than Sainsbury's - my gran has been going there for thirty years, before all these wannabe middle class people started shopping there

No it isn't.

Poundland keep the scum out of Morrisions.
Morrisons keeps the scum out of Tesco.
Tesco keeps the scum out of Sainsburys.
Sainsburys keeps the scum out of Waitrose
Waitrose keeps the scum off the 'phone to Fortum's.

Pyramid of finance purchasing behaviour.

Use Euromerc for original mercedes parts at half the prices that Dealers charge. Also a good source for getting good quality nearly new parts.
When my headlight gave up on my 55 plate E270, Nick from Euromerc was able to get me a really good condition complete 2nd hand one for £175, which came with a bulb & Xenon Control Unit as opposed to the cheapest one on eBay, which was £250. New headlight from Dealer was around the £600 mark.

Recently when my Xenon control unit died on my 58 plate E220, Nick was able to provide me one for £125 as opposed to £460 (!) from the Dealer.
I know that their are mixed views about Euromerc but I have always found Nick to be courteous and extremely helpful and his prices actually make it (relatively) affordable to run a Mercedes :)

Also use EBay to source parts. I had to also replace a D1s Bulb; Dealer price £140, on ebay found a original Osram bulb from Hids Direct for £39.95 including p&p. As an aside, they also do the Xenon Control Unit so no need to pay intergalactic Stealer/Dealer prices.

Find a good Independent: my favourite is Gemtech in Romford. Apart from the fact that Richard & John are the two of the nicest guys you will meet, their knowledge is encyclopedic coupled with the fact that their rates are ridiculously reasonable for their level of know-how (but don't tell them that in case it goes up!).
