Headlight bulb replacement on a r171

Hope this hasn't been asked before, couldn't find any reference, low beam headlight bulb has failed and so has the left side light on the SLK350. (well the n/s has been intermittent for a while ) Does the front bumper and headlights really have to be removed to change the bulbs?

If you don't know someone with small hands to do it from the top then I think you can do it by removing the front section of the wheel well liner (remove wheel or turn it in to get to the liner. On some liners you can just remove a couple screws/bolts and flex it out of the way..

Very very easy to do

Jack up and remove relevant front wheel, with 10mm and 8mm sockets remove the front of the wheel liner. 10mm inside the wheel area and 8mm under the front - very easy to get to them.

You then get clear access to the back of the headlight. I've had to replace both dipped beams on mine (£4.75 for the pair...nothing like LED pricing...)
