Sold the car but it had slightly stabilised. I think it would’ve been four new alloys to completely get rid of it. The UK roads + 19 alloys + Run flats was just destined for wheel buckles etc.
Probably best see where Uncle Benz works and get the issue fixed :)
Just wanted to say thanks to all on this forum for the help with my MB S213 over the couple of years. I have now sold the car and gone down to one on the drive!
We (S213 and I) had a bumpy relationship over the two years of ownership. I managed to fix many bug bears however, the used car market...
If it helps @Joe88 , just had an S213 and the front left had this exact same issue. It was a 70 plate with less than 10k miles. MB dealer said they’d investigate but don’t know what they will find.
Update:
MB have the car at the minute, and they've diagnosed the creaking as the lower control arms. The fronts went at 50k miles, now the rears at 57k miles which makes sense however, expected them to last longer.
They've quoted £517 to replace with parts, but I'll get the parts ordered and...
Low speed notch? I've had exactly the same issue. Found the steering gear to be faulty. Read this forum, it may be useful https://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/index.php?threads/e-class-steering-click.183911/
There are multiple complaints of the w213 feeling unsettled on the road. Are you on...
The looping videos are a design feature. It’s so the camera can overwrite them and if you press a button to keep, it’ll only keep the 1 minute video rather than all.
1 minute admittently is annoying though, 5 mins is ideal and 3 mins seems to be the norm for dashcam video length.
Steering feel fine? Any other symptoms to report? I’ve just had my rear ones replaced at 55k miles and it is a lot better on the rear sway. The front suspension on these is very soft.
One other area is to check mounts and strut top mounts. You can visually check the shock mounts from the engine...
I’ve driven an E class on the air suspension and it’s honestly amazing. So if you’re feeling that, get it checked out straight away as those units per corner are seriously not cheap!!
The Goodyear Asymmetric 3 is a great tyre and you can find some MO approved Non run-flats through Kwikfit for the same price. I think if they’re MOE tyre, that normally means they are run flat but not sure.
I had Michelin Pilot sport 4 all around which aren’t MO on my E220 and I do think there...
Always used MB genuine and never had an issue. I’ve heard some aftermarket wipers can cause whistling noises (look on some forums) so keep an eye out for it
I think from what you said, it will be your lower front control arm ball joint. Very very common to go. Does it squeak when you turn the wheel? Mine showed these symptoms as well.
Hi all my fellow geniuses
I recently bought a golf 1.6 Tdi 2014 with 60k miles on it.
Two initial issues:
1. Metallic rattle from the engine bay. I know diesels are noisy, but this seems to be something different. Also hear the golf blow quite loud at 1800rpm. No faults stored. After...
Further edit. I think the previous member comment of the numberplate is something to look into. The bit below the NP is not genuine so it’ll need calibration if you want to keep it.
It’s for the facelift … but think it’s a software issue. Mine does it as well (e class estate)
LI54.65-P-072065 APR21 – 213 facelift / 238 facelift with code 235 and 501 erroneous visual or acoustic alert from parking sensors, or parking assist unavailable, calibrate 360° camera system (if...
Edited: Pretty sure there is a know bug atm with 360 cams. There may be something with the numberplate. If the previous dealer has changed it… the parking system will need recallibration. Let me find the bulletin or I’m just making it up …
