Just wanted to say thanks to all on this forum for the help with my MB S213 over the couple of years. I have now sold the car and gone down to one on the drive!
We (S213 and I) had a bumpy relationship over the two years of ownership. I managed to fix many bug bears however, the used car market is too good right now to not sell up! (If you’re going cheaper or reducing number of cars)
My key lessons:
1. If you want to buy a MB, make sure you have a good Indy close to your front door! You cannot trust your MB dealer (if car is outside warranty)
2. Your local MB dealership do not live up to the class of the car!
3. If you buy a model, try and get one that’s been in the field for 2-3 years. Taxis would’ve got the miles up and many niggles will be fixed At production line.
4. Use this forum for help!
5. If possible, buy the MB extended warranty as it’s seriously fantastic, I can’t fault it one bit and only have praise.
I think the S213 was way above the completion in 2016. The Multibeam LEDs, interior, power, drive and dual dash were complete wow factors. Sadly, it just lacked the build quality and dealership service I was looking for.
