Going along our wonderful roads there is a knock out multiple knocks from the front which I think is the arb links but I can't reproduce the noise by hitting them with a Thor mallet. Any tips for identifying the source?

    Gearbox doesn´t change gears.

Sounds like a gear selector problem. My E320: diags showed gear selector position implausible. Got a used selector which turned out to be worse than the original. Resoldered the 4 opto switches (fiddly, but do-able). Been ok since. Note: these were built in the early lead-free solder days, so a...

    Gear change module

Hi and welcome to the forum. I'm not an expert but have had some experience with 'Selector position implausible ' error on my W211. Someone on here posted a list of compatible shifters, all starting a211 but followed by different subsequent numbers, with the comments that they were upgrades...

    2003 E200K will not crank

Just a thought as my car is 19yo and this gave me problems..... Is the gear selector reporting the correct position? It started with the car going into limp mode. Checked codes and got 'gear selector position implausible.' Fitted a s/h replacement which was worse; at switch on it would...

Slightly nagging Transmission problem 5G-Tronic 722.6 Five Speed Automatic Transmission

I disagree; the fluid coming out of the cooler stops after 2l because the sump is empty. You add 2l clean fluid and that gets pumped etc. But, hey, each to his own.

Re swapping more ATF, you can disconnect the trans cooler return, start engine to flush 2l, stop engine and top up, and repeat

Couple of checks at home... At 4A the alternator may feel warm. You could also try disconnecting the alternator, after first disconnecting the battery. Then reconnect the battery and see if the current has dropped to a low value

Warm air after new condenser & recharge.

I took my W211 to an aircon specialist when cooling was intermittent. He explained that problem was with a valve on the compressor, so, while thinking, DIY; replace the valve; but then, practicality..... I'd have to get the system drained, replace valve (assuming availability) get regassed. So...
