01 320SL Tips

My first time here - all help much appreciated. Looking at buying 2000/20001 320SL, thinking the newer the better, but noticed that around this time the engine changed from straight 6 to V6.
Any thoughts on straight 6 versus V6?
Are very low mileage cars likely to suffer anywhere?
Any general things to watch for?

Sorry no one has answered your post,,the V6 came out in 08-98 and at the same time most that was extra on the earlier cars was thrown in.

Very nice cars to own and drive, the only place to look for rust is on the roof rear corners, Go for the V6 if you can.
17" wheels also became standard.

Personally I'd go for the V8 - very little difference in running costs and standard equipment was higher. Residuals also fare better as SL320s are everywhere.

08/98 or 1999MY cars also came with Mobilo.

True, the 500 is the better one to drive, up to 5 MPG worse, but many hanpy bunnies with the 320
