Can someone tell me if an 01 c-class 220cdi est has a rear washer bottle for the rear wiper or is it connected to the washer bottle in the engine bay ?

Regards Craig.

If it is a W202 then Yes, the rear washer bottle is inside the removable panel to the rear left of the boot. The bottle lifts out to refill.

Don't know about the W203 - maybe someone else could help if it is different.

BMW 520d SE F10, formerly c220cdi estate (for 12.5 years and 345k miles), before that w124 and w210
W203 estate rear washer

On the W203 estate, the same bottle supplies front and rear screens.

The bottle has 2 pumps (accessed from behind a panel under the front nearside wheel arch). There is space for a third pump (I imagine this is for the "posh" people who have headlight washers).

It holds about three litres, and in winter needs to be filled up every week.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Three litres? For the front and the back. That does not sound like much.

My W202 has 5 litres in the front and 1 in the back.

3 litres doesn't sound right!

I seem to fill mine only rarely even in winter. Plus if you were to have headlamp washers you could easily empty it in a day!

Talking about washers I found that my screen dried dirtier after using them, so I empties out the contents and refilled with fresh additives and what a difference I can see again

I've noticed this too! How did you empty the wash bottle?

This a long thin pipe pushed to the bottom with a hose attached and let in run until it was clear
