The Radio display (Audio20) is very dim, almost unreadable, during the day. I noticed that at times the brightness improves and then diminishes in some driving conditions (sunny). I looked at the led cluster top of the windscreen mid position. When I shone a torch at some of the leds the illumination brightened up and dimmed when I turned off the torch. Is there anybody out there in the forum that might be able to suggest how to disconnect this dimming feature or is there some setup either on the radio or the general car settings that might cure this problem? My first thoughts were that the photo transistors have lost sensitivity maybe there is a faulty one in the cluster?
Thanks in anticipation

The sensor controls the auto headlights as well as the interior lighting so assuming your headlights come on and off at roughly the right time, I'd say the sensor is ok.
The radio display appears to have 2 settings from what I can tell. There may be a 3rd but I'm not certain. The first is full brightness. This is selected when the sensor gets full light (or you shine your torch onto it), the other is based on when the lights are on and it is dimmed with the dash light dimmer. Fromw aht you say, the bulbs themselves are ok as it's fine when shining a torch into the sensor, So, the first question is, is the dimmer knob turned up to maximum?
