03 LWB 311 cdi smokes on low revs

My Sprinter has developed a black smoke problem, when ticking over no smoke, when revving i.e. driving 50 mph upwards no smoke, town driving black smoke!

It has had new injectors, new filters, intercooler pipes ok, occassional whistle off of the turbo. New fuel rail pressure valve and sensor fitted.

It has been on several diagnostic machines, one of them being a "STAR" machine, they all come up with the fault low pressure in fuel rail.

Any help would be appreciated because I am at a loss as what to do next.

Low pressure in the fuel rail would cause starting and driving problems, if the engine is performing well, plenty of power and no obvious missing, I would check the EGR valve and the air filter+ the pipework leading up to and from the air filter.. black smoke is generally a wrong air fuel mix..

All pipes were checked recently. The intercooler was pressure tested and I don't believe there is an EGR valve on this model. Thanks for your reply. Trigger1998

There should be an egr valve on it. Mine is an 2003 52 plate 311 and has one.
