It is only just over a month to go before my 04 (53reg) C270 SE Est is 3 years old (38K) hence MOT & warranty will run out!! I am not aware of any probs at present! Perhaps C270 owners & others have some advice? I have owned the car for 4 months.
a)Should I put it in for service in early Feb (although about 2k miles early?)
b)I have been reading posts re Service Plus with great interest! I do less than 10K a year?
Thanks
J

I wouldn't bother with a service as it's doubtful they will pick up on anything. An early MOT might be worth it though, in case it needs any suspension work.

On the service plus, worth getting a quote. Just factor in that if all goes well, it won't be visiting a dealer more often than every 15 months at that mileage. So you could pay for 12 months and not even open the bonnet. The warranty aspect however is worth its weight given that a 12 month comprehensive cover will cost £5-600 and at that mileage you will be looking for a service and a set of pads (and poss disks) in the next 12 months too. Well worth a look.

Thanks for your reply.
Because I do lowish mileage I am thinking long & hard about the service contract or to take the risk? It would easily pay for itself should anything go wrong + services!

Thats the gamble. Clearly if you do take the contract, you'll have the most reliable car on the planet. If not, no doubt something will break. Sods law really. For me, at that mileage, the service contract would have to be no more that perhaps £500 pa. At that rate it's a good bet, given that normal repairs would be maybe £250 for a service plus £150 for pads and an extra £100 for peace of mind is worth it.
That said, I paid £600 just for a 12 month warranty.
See what they quote you.
