06 CLK roof Leak

I saw another post on the forum but without detail or confirmation of it being a typical problem. My CLK Cabriolet ('06) is leaking at the point where the roof meets the screen pillar - its starts as a water droplet and on Monday this week when I accelerated off the drive it deposited a load of water all over my sleeve. Car is under "Approved Used" warranty. Is this a known problem? Should I expect any difficulties in getting the dealer to fix this?

I have had this exact same problem on my car. it is a Jan '06 CLK 320 Cabriolet on a 55 plate. it has leaked since buying it. they kept on saying they would "adjust the seals" but it was never cured. The 3 years warranty expired at end Jan 09 so booked in just before and said "Sort it out and don't give me it back till it's done". anyway, they contacted MB who said it was a coating problem which they were aware of. The roof needs to be sealed by MB. they did mine but only where they thought it was coming in which meant I picked the car up to find it leaking again the next day. I sent it back and they said they would do the whole roof (which would have made sense to do the first time). The roof has been totally re-sealed now and have not had a drop in it. I would suggest you speak to the dealer about this as they may well be aware of it. But...do it before your warranty expires.

Hope this is of help.

Hi Malcolm.

Sorry for butting in on this tread but I to have just bought a CLK 03 with the same drivers side water leak. It drips on my right hand. It has a warranty but I would need to take it back to the independent dealer who's a good hour and a half drive away. Don't mind having a go myself. A few years ago. I had a TVR garage. So I'm use to water ingression. :D
Did you get the info off your computer. If yes, Can I have it to?

Regards
Jon

I have the leak!! can you help please?

My leak started like this in exactly the same place. Now, after a heavy down pour, there is a very tiny drop ready to drip, when I accelerate it spurts water in from that point until sort of empty! Stange thing is that last year for a full 6 months in awful weather there was nothing!! Stone dry!!. Now it has returned. Can you assist please?
