I finally got the top closed with headliner and locked up on my newly acquired SL500 after changing the hydraulic gasket. I assume it was a leaking hydraulic cylinder in the front based on the ruffled lining on the passenger side and a empty reservoir in the truck. The red light went off of the top Up/down switch And I also filled the container with hydraulic fluid to the correct line. Now when I push the top down the windows move a inch then back up but nothing else happens. The door locks and the soft close trunk feature works. I also have the cover in the trunk put into right position Please help troubleshoot. I seem to be very close

The quarter window should both move slightly on both sides, As well as the both passenger and drivers window and the two flaps in the boot lid.
When it works, its like synchronised swimming. Find a good Indy.

Jayboyd3 - Your profile doesn't show your location. If you complete it we may be able to recommend a good local "Indy".

Good luck.

Yeah I actually tried holding the unlock button and it activated the hydraulic reservoir motor and drain the fluid out. Unfortunately it went somewhere in the vehicle meaning I have a hydraulic cylinder leak and it's not in the front because I changed that already assuming it was already leaking. I saw any mechanic recommendations would be appreciated

Turns out I need to replace all my hydraulic cylinders to be on the safe side. I notice I have a leak. I don't know where the fluid is going but I know it's not going well it's supposed to

Jayboyd3 - Thanks. Rather too far for me to recommend a good local "Indy".

Maybe someone else may have an idea.

Good luck.
