My '06 Vito 109CDI has died an electrical death, replacing EIS, keys and steering lock has not resolved the problem so am considering trying a 2nd hand ECU kit (including steering lock, EIS, instrument cluster, etc). If replacing the complete kit, does the ECU part number need to be the same? E.g. can a complete kit with ECU part no. A6461501291, be replaced by a complete kit with part no. A6461533891? TIA Nik

Have a chat with this chap, Mark if I remember.
Likely he might have already saved you some effort and cost.

If its the same problem after swapping the kit, then the problem is not related to those components.

If you have just swapped the EIS,keys, and steering lock then the van wont start as it needs drive auth from the engine ecu. EG you cannot just swap those parts.
