I am writing for some technical assistance with respect to my car. I had a shop install a replacement engine in my 1984 280 SL and they completely botched connecting some of the wiring, sensors and vacuum lines in the engine compartment. Picture documentation is difficult to locate and I am writing to ask if anyone has the time to take some detail photos of a similar car's engine compartment so I can run the issues down.

Thanks, in advance

Kevin

Thanks both. As far as the pics, the electrical mounted on the right (as you face front of car is the headache dujour. such items as electrical control box one or two resisters and anything hidden by the air cleaner canister. Also top views and side views of wiring and vacuum of engine, firewall and bothe inner fenderwell mountings. I am happy to reimburse for film, processing and postage or equivilant if you are using digital. Thanks, KE

p.s. the diagram link was also helpful

If you could accept a CD I will save the pictures and post it to you, I have tried emailing them before and had no joy because the files are too big when trying to send pictures. Other than that I can use a camera with film and post the film to you. let me know

Thanks

These pics will be a great help in making sense of the diagrams and getting back on the road! If you send CD from pics taken with film send the negs too, otherwise send film, whichever is easy. Again basically what I need to a "mapping" of electrical connections and vacuum lines and components in engine bay. Top view and hopefully side view with car to cover anything hidden by aircleaner, etc., especially right (viewed from front) fender well. Let me know when they are on the way. email be at ke355@aol.com for address, Thanks in advance for you assistance Kevin

Resurrect an old thread

Hello,
My 280 SLC has a broken piece of plastic attached to a disconnected vacuum pipe on the bulkhead near the battery (RHD car). There was a vacuum leak and it wouldn't idle until I plugged one of the vacuum pipes. There is no central locking or seat locking working.

So I know that something is broken and missing but do not know what or how the pipes should connect.

Can anyone point me to a picture of how this area should look on a C107 280 - the vacuum piping on the bulkhead behind the car battery. It would be a great help. I've looked for pictures but can't find anything detailed enough.
