Hello
Can a speed pulse generator be fitted to a 1987 300 SL (107041) so that an Audio 30 APS sat nav will work?
This summer I'm using my SL for a touring holiday and would like to swap out its classic Becker Grand Prix for the Audio 30 APS sat nav I had in my (now written off) C220CDI. I'm pretty sure it will need a speed input to work. I don't much fancy mucking about with the ABS to get a speed signal there - if indeed it's possible - can I add a Hall generator to the speedo? I assume that there was a speed signal generator for 107s that had a cruise control. The oft-quoted part 0075422917 seems to be for 124 generation cars. The usually trustry parts catalogue shows a part (item 315, third diagram) but has no part numbers.
Rest of the temporary swap seems straightforward: DIN to ISO harness converter; upgrade the speakers behind the grilles.
