Hi, Does anyone know where I can get a good, working, dial for a 1987 SL? I only need the left hand section with the oil pressure, economy, fuel & temp guages, the rest work fine. Actually, it's the oil pressure & economy parts that are on the blink but apparently it has to be changed as a unit & the earlier ones aren't compatibale. They're over £200 from Mercedes, so I thought I'd try the secondhand route first.

try ebay or breaker's yards

as the cluster you want is "international" i.e. not in MPH, any left hand pod dial will do from any market. That means you can use a german or french or u.s. one. I'd be careful and go for one from a similar model, just in case the values are differnt for a V8 or 280 or 300.
I can recommend PC merc centre, Mercman and Dronsfields. You'll probably find that the dials from a w126 are similar as well. I know the speedo is.

I agree. Mercman 023 80 784444 has a good stock but can be expensive. Also try Julian Larkin http://www.mercedesparts.plus.com/ who have a good stock of SL stuff.
