107,rain getting in!

My `88 107 is letting in rain water,dripping in through the bonnet release handle and into footwell.Cant find the source,does anyone know if this is common fault or had experience and know remedy?

Forgot to mention that car has hard-top on at the moment so do you think that is still where the rain is likely to be getting in?

Yes I do, the 129 did it, the cure on that was to undo the screws that held the sealing strip on, put some mastic in and do up the screws, but not as tight.

Just partly lock the front so that its just pulling it down, and you run a feeler gauge along the front gap, noting the wider gaps

try to also check your weatherstrip and possible consider getting a window hood in case you still got none.
