109 cdi extra long rust bucket

hi bought my 109 in 2004 it is a 9 seater taxi.it has been nothing but trouble from day 1. and nothing but ignorance from mb talking to them is like chatting to a brick wall they are the british leyland of the 21st century. it would be quicker to tell you what has'nt gone wrong but the major problem from day 1 has been rust. and lots of it. even the bonnet had rus.t and thats fiberglass .unfortunatly it has a metal brace. it has been in to a so called mb approved body shop when it was 2 years old. it had new bonnet, new rear hatch, new roof ,front doors repaired, sliding doors repaired ,rear pannels repaired ,its now nearly 5 years old and its all coming back again. this is'nt a one off i've seen and spoken to lots of people with the same problem. the new vito rot is as bad as the old shape. and this happens to the vaneo aswell. my mates got a 6 seater vaneo on an 06. its as rotten as a pear. and his is'nt a one off either. i've seen an officiel mb bodyshop book for there body shop guys only. sworn to secrecy. it tells them where to find the rust. they also have one on there cars. i've seen both i was told if it was if the press got hold of them mercs would be bankrupt. i can see why.

Hi Mark and welcome, I can understand how you feel over this, its something that should have been dealt with years ago.

I would get so angry it it were mine and if a Taxi, I would put a big sign on top saying "rust bucket" or something like that and park it in your local MB dealers

hi all my 1st time here & sadly its the rust problem! 04 vito , brought new & nearly every panel has rust (not front wings lol) still waiting for the dealer to get back to me. my soon try to have them on the sale of goods act

Sad threads indeed,, I would be upset if they were mine.

These post do offset all of the good ones, its peoples hard earnt cash going down the drain, and the fight with MB, and this not do anyone any good

when you go to your dealer ask to speak to the princable of the dealership and lodge a formal complaint might be worth seeking legal advice

just had builder at my house who has the same problem, went to the dealer who he brought it from who told him that he washes it too much,????
