I have a 1991 w124 230e with a cat, just changed all ignition parts, leads, plugs, cap and arm, have an intermittent problem of it cutting out, usually when its at idle speed and with a manover being performed, ie hard lock on the steering etc, what do you think I should try next to solve this? thanks

A 1991 car could use part of the OVP relay for idle

Hmm, true, i'll swap that over. What about idle air valve? it doesnt start without using the throttle too, once started runs smooth

On engines with a rotary idle valve they are non adjustable.

Cars without have the screw between the disributor and the head

To check the rotary valve , should be 12 ohms between 1 & 2 and the same between 2 & 3
