My 124 94' e280 estate has air con but not getting much cold air from it at present.

I have pressed snowflake symbol ran dial to coldest or just beyond (clicked off) position and have air direction and blower in position recommended by my manual.

Can anyone tell me what the correct sequence of checks is to see if it has packed up.

I have replaced the fuse which I notice also serves the engine fan (can't say I have heard the fan cut in recently when the engine has got very warm)
Snowflake button does make a cut in noise when pressed and does light up.
What other spot checks can I make? before taking it to garage at great expense. It could just be that I don't now how to use it properly.

Shouldn't cost you too much (50 to 60 quid) to get it charged up by an air con company.

The air con should blow cold when the EC light is OFF, is it still blowing warm when the light is out ?

Hi

Had mine recharged today. When the level of the coolant gases is too low it cannot fire the compressor to save it being damaged. There is a way to bybpass this to test it but it isnt really worth the effort.

A good aircon specialist can test the hole system before the refill.

Price £40 for a topup £60 for a full recharge where i went.
