124 Gearbox oil cooler pipes

1995 124 280(petrol) TE -
Have an oil leak from corroded oil cooler pipes from gearbox to oil cooler.
Looks feasible to "graft" piping between unions - is this a practical solution ? Is there a pressure issue?
Does anyone have schematic of the system and source for replacement pipe elements/units other than MB Dealer ?
Any help much appreciated.

Not entirely sure but pipes are running from gearbox to front radiator. and leak appears to be central from pipes under radiator

Established that cooling is via the radiator
My car has AC and the corroded leaking oil cooler pipe which accesses the radiator (top and bottom) is out of stock in UK and Germany - so unavailable for an indeterminate time.
As a work around is it practical the bypass the oil cooler pipe connected to the radiator ?
Will this have any medium to long term detrimental effect on the running of the car ?

To keep you on the road its worth a try, are you cutting the corroded pipe out and useing something to bridge the gap?

No sadly can't do that the corrosion is right at the union.
MB say the part ( for AC fitted cars) is out of stock in the UK and Germany and can't say when it will be available.
Am trying to source a " used "
Will bypass the cooler to drive it back to my garage (12 miles0 and continue the search for the correct part
